If all Burton boards were ponies, the Burton Custom X Snowboard would definitely be the gnarly pony. Yes, ponies can be gnarly. The Burton Custom X is built for aggressive riders who prefer speed and precision. Don’t let a wishy-washy board hold you back from riding big lines; the Custom X dreams about big lines in its sleep (we think it sleeps, but it might not). The Custom X is the stiffest board in the Burton lineup. With the Custom X, you can be sure you’re getting all the gnarly-ness you want. Pony up, and git-er-done.

Rocker Type

Camber – An advocate of powerful turns and poppy precision, camber speaks to the core values of board design. Offering a snappy suspension, camber distributes weight evenly over the entire length of the board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail.

Flex

Twin Flex – Having a twin flex indicates that your board is perfectly symmetrical in flexibility from tip to tail so you gain a more balanced and predictable ride.

Shape

Directional – Directional is the original snowboard shape. It is designed with a slightly longer nose, to concentrate the pop in the tail. This board will give you plenty of floatation, fluidity, and control to rip.

Pro-Tip™ – A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.

Core

Dragonfly™ Core – Over 500 independent laminations, each individually oriented within the core, result in superior weight-savings, strength and energized response.

Multizone EGD™ – In four separate zones, the wood grain is perpendicular to the core adjacent to The Channel – the area from which a rider’s power emanates – for ultimate strength and edge control

Squeezebox High – Energizing rebound in the board’s tip and tail, Squeezebox High adds carbon to create the ultra-high performance snap, pop, and response demanded by elite riders

Laminates

45˚ Carbon Highlights Hi-Voltage – Carbon Highlights optimizes each layer of fiberglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics. A 45˚ fiber angle provides a more aggressive ride.

Base

Sintered WFO – Sintered bases are super-fast. Polyethylene pellets are forced together under extremely high pressure. The result is a singular piece of connected pellets with tiny pores across the entire base. Then, Burton infuses a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered base which results in an ultra-durable, smooth and fast base all season long.

Die-cut Base – Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.

Edges

Frostbite Edges – Frostbite edges extend out slightly beneath bindings for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don’t, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining smooth, flowing, and forgiving.

Pro-caliber speed and cambered precision in the most aggressive snowboard in Burton’s lineup.

Pro-caliber is a strong statement for any snowboard, but the Burton Custom X Snowboard has repeatedly delivered for snowboarding’s most demanding riders due to precise design and powerful drive. The confidence is in the tech, which includes the carbon-fueled snap of Squeezebox High core profiling, a competition-grade base, and 45° Carbon Highlights Hi-Voltage for the ultimate in lightweight responsiveness. The hardest charging snowboard we make, the X is the only choice in camber for riders who own podiums and stack serious footage.
