While the freestyle World Cup tour is currently having a break until March 19th, the Europa Cup picked up pace again in Serbia with the leading riders of the EC standings topping the slopestyle competition in Kopaonik.

In the men’s contest, Emiliano Lauzi (ITA) earned the victory in a close final of the top-12 men, with his 77.00 being only two points better than the 75.00 of his teammate Alberto Maffei who therefore cemented is second spot in the EC ranking behind of Lauzi who already has a comfortable lead.

With only three-more slopestyle events scheduled on the continental tour, the 21-year-old is looking good to bring home his second career title since 2014.

In the women’s event, Sofya Fedorova (RUS) defended her close lead in the EC ranking by winning her season’s fourth EC competition with 85.33 ahead of her strongest pursuer and defending champion Katerina Vojackova (CZE, 79.00).

Vesna Kajzer (SLO) rounded out the podium as third with 68.33 while Toms Petrusevics (LAT) took third on the mens side of things with 72.33.

Following up the slopestyle competition was a big air contest which wrapped up the EC weekend in Serbia.

While Zuzana Medlova (SVK), the younger sister of 2015 world championships slopestyle bronze medallist Klaudia dominated the women’s event with 88.33 relegating big air EC leader Vojackova to the second rank (81.00), two riders from Austria topped the men’s field.

Clemens Millauer earned a 95.00 while his fellow countryman Julian Maschl scored a 91.33 to celebrate a 1-2 punch ahead of Simeon Mitrev (BUL, 90.00).
