Немного слов об авторе данного стиля граффити Flavio Melchiorre:
This month we spoke to Italian artist Flavio Melchiorre (A.K.A. IDRO51) whose unique style of ‘hypnotic art’ has brightened up campaigns and projects for clients including FENDI, Citroën, Adidas Originals and PANTONE as well as brightening up streets around Europe with his street art!

Please tell us about how you create your artwork. What is the process and what tools do you use?
It depends if it’s a themed commission or free style. Usually I draw all concepts and ideas in my sketchbook, before creating a digital drawing in Illustrator or Photoshop using my pen tablet. It can be a long process sometimes, but if I have a vision in my mind it’s very fast.

What are your main sources of inspiration?
Instagram right now for sure, and the music I’ve been listening to – ACDC, SOHN, Matthew Halsall. I’m also inspired by all my life experiences.
How did you get into illustration?
I got into illustration in early 2001, after a long time working at an Advertising Agency as Art Director. I started as a freelance designer for fashion working with brands such as Miss Sixty, Energie and IndianRose. At the same time I worked hard researching patterns and illustration and kept drawing. In 2009 my work was featured in the prestigious Taschen Illustration Now! vol.3 and that was when my career in the art world really began.

What are you currently working on?
I’m working on a couple of illustrations for a well known Italian brand, which is really cool. I hope it will be great, so stay tuned! At the same time I’m working on new paintings, sculptures and murals. Let’s say that I am experimenting with more techniques and materials after a long time using my Wacom tablet (actually I find that I have more flow using technology like the iPad where I’m drawing a new series of digital artworks using the amazing Adobe Draw).
